William Olson Gear and Pawl Fly Reel 3 5/8

A very nice William Olson Gear and Pawl fly reel, 3 5/8″” diameter and set up for RHW. Black anodized throughout with a clear anodized foot and S-shaped crank handle. Two handsome medallions are inset into the front plate with the first noting the original owner’s name, model (3 5/8″ G&P), and serial number (No. 273) while the second bears William’s maker stamp. The reel weighs 10.6 ounces on my scale. It is in lightly used condition with some rim rash in the “resting spot” and two small nicks elsewhere on the frame edge. Very clean otherwise. Ebonite-style handle. Pre-set gear and pawl drag which has one of the loudest clicks of any gear and pawl reel I’ve ever seen (your friends will know when you are into a fish on this reel!). No bag. Mr. Olson has built a well-deserved reputation as one of our best contemporary bench reelmakers, and, as fans know, the waitlist is substantial.
