Veniard Seals Fur Substitute Dubbing is a natural fur, slightly softer than genuine Seal fur, specially selected for its seal-like qualities and it does dub nicely. Veniard Seals Fur Substitute dubbing is one of the best and closest alternatives for most famous of dubbing materials for fly bodies. This is a natural dubbing which can be used on numerous traditional and modern fly patterns which is a very easy to use and gives a superb effect when teased out in particular for dry fly bodies and nymphs.

It all started in the early 1920s when Mr Ernest and Frank Veniard started collecting feathers from London poultry markets for hat mounts and brooches. This in turn led to limited supplies for fly tyers. By the mid 1930s The Veniard brothers produced there first fly Tying Catalogue. By the start of WWII the company already had a reputation for supplying top quality materials.

There have been major changes since then with the arrival of synthetics, genetic hackles and specially designed tools. But through all this Veniards have and still remain one of the top fly tying suppliers in the world.
