Description
The SS Camo Crab was developed and refined to meet a particular need, namely the permit flats of Central America and especially Belize. Small, no bigger than a nickel, multicolored crabs with short prominent legs are a favorite, but there wasn’t any pattern that was just right. Years of fine-tuning led to the SS Camo Crab. It’s multi-colored back, conspicuous legs, and unique belly-weighting “button” resulted in an attractive pattern that’s perfectly balanced and when it hits the water it makes a distinct plop that captains covet in a crab fly. Tie one on the next time you visit Central America or give one a try during the flood tides when redfish and black drum stalk the Spartina grass.
