“After 5 years of trying to find the right materials and hook the Square Up Craw came together.
I designed this pattern to represent a small crawdad that has chosen to stand its ground and defend itself rather than run.
I noticed the strong reaction from the carp as I slowly crawled this fly in front of them and they jumped right on it.
The hook is Key in this pattern as it allows for the curved-up body giving it the defensive stance as well as a super sharp point that is hard for the carp to spit back out giving you another second to come tight.”
