Kapok Dubbing is a natural hollow fiber that, when dubbed, retains its buoyancy and will help your dry flies float better than any other dubbing on the market. It is half the thickness of superfine dubbing and is ideal for tiny dry flies as well as nymphs. It provides the perfect profile on small flies, unlike traditional dubbings that add too much bulk on smaller hooks. What is Kapok?

Kapok (Ceiba pentandra) is a natural fiber that has been grown throughout the tropics. It is a moisture-resistant, quick drying, resilient, and buoyant fiber that weighs only 1/8 as much as cotton. Kapok has historically been used in life jackets and life boats, supporting as much as 30 times its own weight in water. Traditionally Kapok is very difficult to dye, however the team at Semperfli has been working with computer-based dying machinery which has enabled it to bulk dye with repeatable colors every time. With Kapok, buoyancy is lost at an extremely slow rate.
