Description
Like so many other effective patterns we use around the mangroves, this fly can be taken for any number of available natural baits. Shrimp, killfish, mollies, or some of the other small off-colored baitfish are all on the menu amongst the mangrove roots in the tannic waters of the Everglades. The Rivet will land softly and hang close to the surface, but anglers shouldn’t hesitate to pluck and trim as needed to get it where the fish want it. This fly is particularly effective on both baby tarpon and snook but isn’t limited to just those species.
