Description
An unusually harsh (for Nashville) snowstorm had me housebound, dreaming of summer on the Henrys Fork and large wild rainbows sipping tiny ants in and around The Harriman Ranch.
The Red-Ass Ant was born from those daydreams and three straight days at the vise. It is effective as a traditional searcher wet fly, swung down and across current to illicit instinctual, aggressive wet fly eats or as a drowned ant nymph, particularly deadly below a foam hopper.
