Description
In many ways, this fly was born out of my youth and learning to tie with Andre Puyans. Andy was the creator of the AP nymph, which was a great fly from a tying perspective as the tail, wing case and legs were all tied out of the same bunch of materials. The Anato-May has some shared qualities but was the first mayfly nymph that I know of to have a set of legs emanating from the juncture of the abdomen and the thorax, making it much more realistic in profile than standard nymphs where the legs all emanated from the thorax, head juncture. This is a great all-around mayfly pattern, like an updated PT with a super solid profile and a proven track record on the water. It renders really well in small sizes as well.
