Description
A Marty Karstetter bamboo fly rod, 8’6″, 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #5 line. Serial number #24620. The rod weighs 3.7 oz. Hollow built. On the faster side of medium action. The rod appears to be completely mint, not even lawn cast. Two opposed node pattern with very light tan cane color and the tips are mirrored.. Nice varnish coat. The main wraps are brown with black edges at the keeper wrap, agate stripper, ferrules, and tip top. Chrome snake guides. The swiss-style ferrules are oxidized. The grip is 5 3/4″ long and turned to a modified half wells profile. The reel seat is an oxidized nickel silver cap and ring slide band. The cap is engraved “Marty Karstetter, Maker.” The spacer is made of a very attractive walnut burl, unvarnished so presumably stabilized. The rod packs into a light brown cloth bag and original tube with the “Karstetter Rods” stencil.
