Description
A nice Marty Karstetter bamboo fly rod, 8’3″, 2-piece, 2-tip, for a #4 line. Hollow-built. Serial #3317. The rod weighs 3.5 ounces. New unused condition. Fast DF action. Medium flame color cane with two opposed nodes in a spiral. The main wraps are a medium brown with darker brown edges at the keeper, banded agate stripper, ferrules, and tip tops. The agate stripper is oxidized, and the guides are bronzed snake brand. The Swiss-style ferrules are oxidized in a semi-truncated style. The varnish is excellent and glass smooth. The grip is 6″ long and turned to a modified half wells profile. The seat is a cap and ring with two hardware oxidized, and the cap is stamped “Marty Karstetter Maker.” The rod comes in a tan cloth bag and an aluminum tube with a “Karstetter Rods” stencil.
