Description

A nice Marty Karstetter bamboo fly rod, 8’3″, 2-piece, 2-tip,and built for a #4 or #5 line. Serial 13708. The rod weighs 3 1/2 ounces. Hollow built. Super light use, with no soiling to the grip and just a hint of brassing to the interior of the snake guides and the beginning of some slight ferrule cracking at the ferrule wraps. Very light flamed cane with two opposed nodes in a spiral pattern. Excellent varnish. The main wraps are light brown with darker brown edges and dark brown at the ferrules. The stripper is an orange agate and the snakes are black nickel snake brand. The ferrules are swiss style and oxidized. The grip is 6 1/2″ long and styled to a half-wells profile. The cap and ring seat sports a stabilized walnut spacer and the cap and ring have been oxidized. The butt cap is stamped Marty Karstetter and has a few minor dings. The rod packs into a light tan bag and aluminum rod tube.
