Description

A Mario Wojnicki bamboo fly rod, 8’8″, 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #6 or #7. Serial 7514. The rod weighs 4.6 ounces. Medium/slow action. Very light flame toning with two opposed nodes. 6-strip construction. Fiberglass ferrules. The wraps are semi-transparent with a hint of yellow or apricot color. Black at the ferrules. The stripper is carbide and the snake guides are chrome. Very good varnish. The rod has seen light use, nice and straight with a bit of hand oil toning to the grip and the start of cracks at the ferrule wraps. The grip is a generous 7″ long and is shaped to Mario’s modified full wells grip with a hidden pocket cap. The screw lock seat is an aluminum barrel with a wood spacer and an inlaid aluminum slide pushed by a brass nut. The spacer is stamped “Mario Wojnicki.” A cork bottom and composite cap finish the seat. The rod packs into a gray bag and an all-aluminum tube.
