When I first developed the Hardbody Leech back in 2009 during my early competition days, I was inspired by a mentor who used this unique weight for streamers. Ive always loved fishing leeches, so I incorporated the tungsten belly into this pattern.
Over time, the fly evolvedbecoming simpler and more effective. Ive always believed the best flies use three materials or fewer, and the Hardbody Leech is no exception. It gets down fast, moves like a real leech, hides its weight beautifully, and is incredibly versatile.
Originally tied as a heavy anchor fly, its since proven deadly in stillwaters and even won a few Denver Carp Slams.
