Description

The yak, native to high Asia, is increasingly becoming the go-to choice for fly tyers crafting large streamers for pike or other predatory fish. This bovine provides a natural, exceptionally durable, and long hair with outstanding properties for fly tying. Similar to baitfish fiber, it has a slight wave, adds volume to the fly, offers sufficient length for large streamers, and is also very easy to work with.

Another advantage ofFishient H2O Natural Yakis its ability to become softer when wet. This gives the fly significantly more movement and liveliness in the water compared to synthetic materials.

For a special effect, the natural hair of the Asian bovine has been combined with H2O’s Shiner Flash material. This adds a subtle, reflective shimmer, which is particularly beneficial in murkier waters with limited visibility for predators. Care has been taken not to use too much Shiner material, ensuring the fly performs exceptionally well even in very clear waters.
