First Cast Flies Extendo Hollow Fly

Description

Extended body 12 hollow fleye.

Tied on 8/0 hook. Extension with shanks rather than mono.

My favorite way to fish these flies is on a 10wt with full sink fly line. Two handed stripping them at high speeds will be sure to elicit some explosive eats.

About the maker:

I’m Fred, the owner and manager of First Cast Flies. I didn’t have the traditional pathway into fly fishing that most do. I started on my own, at 21 years old, having never fished before. I jumped right into fly fishing, and I was adamant that the first fish I caught would be on a fly that I tied, and it was. The learning curve was steep, but my flies and my clients have helped me access new waters and fishing opportunties across the East Coast and expand to saltwater.

In 2021, I officially launched First Cast Flies with just an Instagram page. Within a few months I was making sales across the country and even to my friends at Ahrex hooks across the pond. I’ll never put myself in a box, and I’ll tie everything from nymph boxes to 8/0 Bluewater Tuna flies.
