Description

A nice Farlex 1-1 Platewind direct drive fly reel, 4″ diameter and set up for RHW (though the bias is fairly neutral). Raised pillar design. Serial #6. Unfished condition (there is one tiny nick on the foot edge at the midway point, which I’m pretty sure is a handling mark, as the reel shows no other signs whatsoever of having been used). Silver anodized throughout. The reel weighs 13.6 ounces on my scale. Gear and pawl drag system with a nice loud click. Ebonite handle that’s slightly flared at the end. “Farlex” is etched into both the winding plate and backplate. There is also a tensioner in the frame edge near the foot to adjust the drag. No bag. A nice match for spey rods in the 14′ to 16′ class.
