Bill is an avid angler spending his free time exploring the Pittsburg area.
When not on the river you can find him at his vise testing out new patterns.
The Cuttie is an excellent crossover pattern that is extremely versatile. I first saw a similar pattern on a forum a while back and cant find the gentlemans name to give the credit to. This bug is a fish slayer. The thin body imitates caddis larva very well and can even represent larger midge larva. Oversized wire ribbing gives excellent segmentation which I feel is essential and often overlooked. The silver inverted bead can also represent a gas bubble as the larva transitions into a pupae riding to the surface, so let this swing out at the end of your drift! Riding hook point up reveals the secret sauce, the orange hot spot. Small but mighty this pattern has proved itself on big lake run bows and the stocked fish cant help themselves! Sinks fast and super durable. The cuttie gets its name from the orange hot spot mimicking that of a cutthroat trout. Bill Doten
