Description
Calf Tail is a very popular and versatile fly tying material among dry fly, saltwater and steelhead fishermen. The hairs are slightly stiffer than bucktail which lends itself to split wings on dry flies such as bombers. The hairs can be translucent, which makes them ideal for shrimp patterns such as Gotchas and Charlies and many other streamers such as Mack’s Canyon, Green Butt Skunk to name a few. we occasionally use the really long strands for small clouser minnows.
Some of these colours are dyed in house and extra care is taken to leave no dye residue or oils. Prime quality tails by Nature’s Spirit.
