The Rigolets supply salt water from the Gulf of Mexico to the expansive Lake Pontchartrain estuary, and along with the sea water comes redfish, speckled trout, largemouth bass, black drum, jack crevalle, sheepshead and tarponcreating a veritable fish highway and some of the best fishing in the state. Whether it’s a speckled trout breaching the surface for a topwater, a redfish sliding down the bank, or a jumping jack exploding like a bowling ball dropped from the sky, there is never a dull moment here.*
