This is true Alaska wilderness where you fly in on a small airplane to a dirt airstrip and will see more bears than people while you fish the braided water of the Alagnak. You can fish the same stretch of river all week long and literally never fish the same water twice with tons of braids, islands, and gravel bars. Enjoy anything from fishing dry flies for trout and grayling, swinging streamers to salmon or taking advantage of the spawning salmon and getting fish to gorge themselves on eggs and flesh flies. The Alagnak has it all! When you’re not fishing you can enjoy the beautiful lodge with all the amenities you would expect from an amazing lodge. The guides are experienced, the owners havebeen living and fishing in Alaska for years and the fishing just makes a trip like this a once in a lifetime trip you want to take every year.

Enjoy a few pictures I took while on the trip as well as a few others including from the talented Fish Eye Guy who visited the lodge recently. Trust me when I say once you get a taste of Alaska you will want to go back every year.

There are many dates available but we can focus your trip on the species of fish or type of fishing you would prefer.

June and July is prime Sockeye and King salmon season. The sockeye come into streams of Alaska by the millions and you can fill your freezer quickly with what’s considered the best tasting salmon species. Kings are appropriately named as they are the largest salmon species in Alaska and swinging flies to these fish that can top 30 pounds easily will test your skills.

Middle to late August is Silver season. The pinks run on even years only so when they’re not in the rivers the silver runs are more numerous. These fish will test your backing knots as you see line scream from your reel. They not only will take streamers but the Alagnak is where the pink polywog was invented to take these monster salmon on top water flies!

Comfort Package – 6 Day /7 Night – $7,500 pp

This package includes all meals during your stay. 6 days of guided lodge based river experiences, whether it be fishing, wildlife- viewing or adventure activities. Comfortable heated riverfront cabin with access to toilet and hot showers only a few steps away from your cabin door. You will arrive on Sunday, and activities begin Monday through Saturday with departure on the following Sunday.
