Compression set is the measure of a material’s ability to return to its original thickness after prolonged compressive stresses. A lower compression set is generally more ideal, indicating that material would resist deformation better, hence cushioning your fishing tackle against knocks and scratches.
Neoprene is an inert material which does not react with chemicals such as oil and grease commonly used on fishing reels or any sprays used on rod guides against corrosion resistance. neoprene is also resistant to weathering, especially from UV rays which may cause flex cracking, making it an ideal material for protecting your tackle in outdoor situations.
