Description
The Muddler Minnow is one of the most iconic and versatile flies in the history of fly fishing. Originally tied by Don Gapen in the 1930s for use in Ontarios Nipigon River, it was created to imitate sculpinssmall, bottom-dwelling baitfish that are a favorite food of large trout. Over time, its proven just as deadly for bass, thanks to its buoyant head and erratic, darting action.
- Classic streamer for trout, bass, and other predatory fish
- Imitates sculpins, baitfish, and even grasshoppers when fished dry
- Versatiledead drift it, swing it, or strip it through deeper runs
- Tied with spun deer hair head for buoyancy and movement
