Aunt Lydia’s Sparkle Yarn (item #SA) has been a mainstay in fly tying for many years.
It is a sparkling 3-strand acrylic yarn that is excellent for caddis pupae and crab patterns.
This yarn is amazing! Seriously. You can brush it out and it acts much like EP fibers, but waaayyy easier to work with, and much cheaper.
The pro tyers know that this is the right material for crabs, kahns, merkins and toads….
