The main material, Fritz, or Blob Chenille used to tie Blobs, FAB’s, and Booby’s. “Fritz” is an interesting material that comes in a wide variety of colours. The term “Fritz” is an English tying term used for many chenillestypes. Gel Core Fritz is an autoclaved chenille or Fritz where it is heated so that the core material is bonded to the piles of the chenille. Just a bit of play on words within the English language and tying cultures of the world.
The creative tier can incorporate this in streamers or large wet flies and anything else you can think of. For example, it can add a nice splash of colour. It can also be used to bulk up ahead or the body of a streamer, steelhead or salmon, bull trout or pike flies to create turbulence for the swimming materials behind.
Once mounted, it can even be trimmed to the desired shape.
