For Birthdays, Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Anniversaryies, or just because you want to say “Thank You”, you can now send you loved one out for a full day of guided flyfishing for a freshwater species of their choice.

They’ll be able to experience a day on the streams with Rob Gee from the Troutlore fly tying store. We’ll work with them to improve casting and presentation relating to the specific water and target species. Reading the water, understanding the insect life and the flies to match, as well as managing the drift to get a better presentation. It’s my aim to not only give every client a great day out on the water, but to have them fishing better and more confidently the next time they’re out on your own.

Use your own rod and reel, if appropriate to the waters we’ll fish, or we can supply a rig that is up to the task of delicate presentations and a fast fight. All flies and terminal tackle are supplied, but you’re welcome to bring your own and we’ll work to get your a fish on your own hand tied flies too.

Once a Guided Fly Fishing Gift has been purchased through the website, the recipient need only get in touch to organise dates and locations that best suit their fishing needs. I offer guiding fishing for trout in the Goulburn Valley and it’s tributary streams. So, there are a myriad of options within around an hour and a half drive from Melbourne. Sight fishing for carp is generally offered from September through to April, depending on seasonal conditions. We offer a range of locations that average between 1 and 2 hours drive from Melbourne. With small creek fishing in summer, and lake fishing the whole season, there’s a new experience sight fishing for carp awaiting you!

Locations further north can also be arranged for those wanting to fish the rivers on the other side of Eildon, right through to the King, Buckland, Buffalo, and Ovens valleys.

Depending on location, and travel, we generally aim to be on the water around 9am and finish up around 5pm, depending on the time of year and light conditions. This can be adjusted to suit your needs, and extended if an evening rise is an option. Lunch, snacks and drinks are provided for all anglers on the day.
